Transforms systems to Windows 8
for Windows 7 11
Windows 8 / Windows 7
The Windows 8 Transformation Pack takes your current Windows XP, Vista, and Windows 7 installation and makes it look and feel like Windows 8. Transformation packs can be useful to people that don't yet want to upgrade to the newest version of Windows but would like to benefit from the wallpapers, design themes, icons and sounds of Windows 8. Stopping short of a full upgrade to Windows 8, this is the closest you can get -- and the transformation pack costs you nothing.
The installation of Windows 8 Transformation Pack is automated. It automatically installs all of the features you need to make your system look like Windows 8. This includes a modern new graphical user interface, new menus, cursors, screen savers, and all of the recognizable Windows sounds needed to get the full Windows 8 experience. During the installation wizard, you can select a variety of options to customize the installation.
The Windows 8 Transformation Pack doesn't provide you with all of the features of Windows 8, but it is a good imitation. You can't install apps from the Windows 8 app store or use the store app to install new apps, but you can manage programs and add some apps by clicking the store tile. Some built-in apps include the most popular email services, such as Gmail and Hotmail. You can also take advantage of the clock, calendar, music app, and photo gallery. There is even an app to quickly access Facebook and Twitter. The developers that brought you the Windows 7 installation pack have succeeded with another valuable and effective application. Typically, the installation packs get updated as new features become available in Windows 8.
The Windows 8 Transformation Pack does a great job at imitating the look and feel of Windows 8, but it won't provide you any of the advanced security options. After installation, you're greeted with the Windows 8 Start Screen. From there, you can access the Settings app and make any changes to the system settings and keyboard options. The installation program also has various options to help keep your system running. Run the utility to do a repair installation of the theme and to choose the default font for your system.
If you're on the fence about upgrading to Windows 8 or you want the design without the extra features, this transformation pack can fulfill your needs. It's sleek, easy to install, and easy to remove. Some people have reported issues with installing other programs. There is also no ribbon interface available in the Windows File Explorer. Overall, it's an effective clone that does what it says it will. The program can be uninstalled like any other application, and it won't slow down your system like some other add-ons.
